Taipei Songshan Airport, nucleus of Taiwan civil aviation, is located in the Songshan District of Taipei. It is easily accessible from the town centers.
Total space of this airport is 182 hectare.(civil aviation area: 83 hectares) The east-west runway can accommodate B-747 and smaller aircrafts. Several auxiliary facilities including navigation guide and aid equipment, and approach lights are installed, to facilitate low visibility and night landing. Eight air bridges are available for passenger boarding and deplaning.
The terminal building offers a variety of convenient services including airliner operation, identification check, security inspection, banking, insurance, post office, telephone-telegraph, shopping, restaurant, and artifact display and sell facilities.
This airport operates on 24-hour basis with the exception of the 2300--0600 hour during which only limited control flights and engine test are allowed.
At present, only three airlines including MDA, TNA, UIA,offer regular passenger and cargo flight. Four other airlines offer unscheduled charter flight. They are SRA, GBA , DAC, EPA. |
